Is there a migrant crisis on Thassos?

No. Not one migrant arrived to this island's sandy shores. Here's why:

Thassos is far away from the main migrant route. Most migrants arrive to the Greek islands that are located less than 10 Km from the Turkish coast (Thassos is more than 125 Km from Turkey).

Greece Migrants Route

Once the migrants arrive to Greece, they anxiously continue their journey North. They take a ferry to the mainland and then a bus, taxi or train to Greece’s northern border with FYROM.

This is why we don’t see migrants on the shores of Thassos. Neither do we expect to in the future.
