Golden Beach is also known by the local population now as Skala Panagia, as it is developing into a beautiful beach side community.

It is, as the name quite literally suggests, a beautiful stretch of golden sand. It is the northern end of a two kilometres stretch of beach, which shelves gently into the sea. The beach has been awarded a blue flag for the cleanliness both of the beach, the environment and the water. This beach is renowned throughout Greece as being one of the most beautiful in the whole of the Mediterranean.

It nestles into the bay, which is backed by the steep granite slopes of the mountainside and at both ends of one's view; the green trees seemed to tumble into the water.

It offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants, snack bars, some with quite literally, international reputations, and several supermarkets - many of whom will deliver to your accommodation - as well as car, motorbike and bicycle hire. From May to October, it is served by the round island bus, and is only a 12 minute car or taxi ride from the main town.

It is a resort to which visitors return again and again, many of them having made lifelong friends with the local people, a resort where you can rest completely and can with your elderly parent or your young children, secure in the knowledge that there will be safe and happy with all the beautiful facilities that a beach side resort makes available.
